Dell Hendricks Takes Reining to Denmark
 When National Reining Horse Association Million Dollar Rider Dell Hendricks
traveled from his home in Tioga, Texas to Butterup, Denmark in mid-July to hold
a reining clinic at Tuse Creek Ranch, it was the culmination of over two years
of planning. The organizers of the clinic, Kenneth Jensen & Lotte Moller of KLM
Reining Horses of Dalmose, Denmark, had been working with Hendricks since 2005
to organize the event.
Hendricks, who has conducted clinics in Australia, Italy, Germany and Canada,
had prior commitments that didn’t allow him to do the clinic until this summer.
When it did finally take place, the clinic was both informative and fun for
everyone – and each of the students was a first-time participant in a Hendricks
Clinic.
According to Dell, “All of the people who took part in the clinic were great to
work with and very excited to learn more about the sport of reining. Both
students and spectators were committed to learning and improving.”
Participating in the clinic were Kenneth Jensen, Lotte Møller, Dan
Christoffersen, Lilja Tietze, Helene Wunch, Gørren, Jette Niemann, AnneMette
Nielsen, Cirkeline Bloc, Patrick Cappiobianco, Lotte Sørensen, Pernille Bendix,
Steen Merrild, Birgitte Olsen and Jan Tribien.
Organizer Kenneth Jensen noted, “We would like to say that we at KLM Reining
Horses want to help reining riders in Denmark keep getting better, by making
hosting with trainers like Dell. Reining is growing in Denmark, and we try to
make it well known.”
He continued, “Denmark is a little country in Europe with 5.5 million citizens.
Western riding has been in Denmark for 25 years but in the last 3-4 years it has
exploded. More and more riders want to ride western, especially since reining
has taking many riders’ attention. At present we have around 700 quarter horses
in Denmark.”

Futurity Champion.
